EP. 31: GRACE KYM THORNE ON DEATH & BEING AN END OF LIFE DOULA

Without a doubt, death is often one of the most uncomfortable conversations to have.

It’s usually the elephant in the room that we are too scared to talk about.

Which is surprising considering it is inevitable that we will all experience physical death.

When I had the opportunity to interview practicing End of Life Doula, Grace Kym Thorne, I jumped at it.

Like most of us, Grace never even thought about death until it hit close to home.

During our deep-dive we chat about:

  • what is an End of Life Doula
  • alternative options for the dying
  • opening the conversation around death
  • working together to help people that are dying or experiencing grief

A member of the Australia Doula College, Grace is committed to providing compassionate care to the dying and their loved ones, improving death literacy, and encouraging others to understand that death is not something to fear.  She is also super excited about being at the forefront of a movement that will change the way we ‘view and do death’.

Here is our interview.
